History

In the 1910s, Green Lake was first owned by automobile entrepreneur Walter. E Flanders.

Flanders was the first to develop the moving automotive assembly line in Detroit. Along with Green Lake, he also owned nearly 1,000 acres of land.

After being purchased by the Aviation Country Club in 1920, the Green Lake Association later acquired it in 1949.
